Codex AI is an AI assistant that reads your code, makes changes to it and shows you the result. These terms explain what we promise, what we ask of you, and what happens if something goes wrong. Please read them before you use the service.
Codex AI ("Codex AI", "we", "us") is operated from India by its proprietor, Sameer Ali. You can reach us at sameerup1996@gmail.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. If you use Codex AI for an employer or client, you confirm you are allowed to do so on their behalf and to give us access to the code you connect.
You keep all ownership of the code you upload or connect, and of any changes Codex AI writes for you. We do not claim any rights in it.
You give us permission to store, copy and process that code only so far as it takes to run the service for you — for example placing it in a temporary sandbox, sending relevant parts to our AI provider so a reply can be generated, and producing a diff you can review. That permission ends when you delete the material or close your account.
We do not use your code to train AI models, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone other than the providers named in our Privacy Policy.
Codex AI is an automated tool. Its output can be wrong, incomplete, insecure or unsuitable for your purpose, and it can be confidently wrong. You are responsible for reviewing and testing any change before you use it, and for anything you merge, deploy or ship.
Do not use Codex AI as the only safeguard in any situation where a mistake could cause injury, financial loss, legal exposure or loss of data.
You agree not to use Codex AI to:
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, without a refund where the breach is serious.
Every plan has published limits — daily questions, tokens, tool actions and machine time. These limits exist because each task costs us real money in AI and compute. They are shown on the pricing page and inside the app, and we may adjust them with notice.
If usage on an account is extreme enough to affect other customers or make the plan uneconomic, we may throttle it, ask you to move to a larger plan, or close the account with a pro-rata refund.
This is optional and off unless you switch it on. Pro and Pro Max subscribers can turn on "Earn while you work" and see an ad panel beside the workspace.
Ads are shown in an isolated frame that cannot read your account or your code. See our Privacy Policy for what the advertising partner receives — and for confirmation that if you never switch this on, it receives nothing at all.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
We aim to keep Codex AI running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It depends on services we do not control, including our AI provider, our sandbox provider and GitHub. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change or remove features.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of output, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost or corrupted data, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
You may stop using Codex AI and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are legally required to close, or where the service is being discontinued — in which case we refund any unused paid period.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Codex AI after that means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. We would much rather sort things out by email first — please write to us.
